Dwell and Hallow — both over a million installs, both selling audio and guided prayer rather than text — land on $9.99/month. Their annual prices differ ($59.99 vs $69.99), which is normal: annual discounts are set by what each one thinks it can get away with.
An app showing $0.99–$199.99 is not a $0.99 app. The bottom of the range is typically the smallest one-off purchase; the top is a lifetime licence. The figure you would actually pay is almost never visible on the listing at all.
Logos and Ascend carry the "Contains ads" label. The rest do not — which is worth remembering the next time someone says every free Bible app is an ad farm.
Not one of these store descriptions mentions a home-screen widget. On its own that proves nothing about whether the apps have one — but it does tell you what each of them leads with: audio, chat, plans, study tools. The apps that do lead with a widget are a different, smaller set, and we look at those in the widget comparison.
Most of them are free to install and read. What differs is whether the free version carries ads, and what the subscription adds. Filament, for example, listed no in-app purchases at all when we checked.
Both were at $9.99 a month when we checked in September 2026, with an annual plan around $59.99–$69.99. Both are audio-first apps, so they are a different product from a home-screen widget.
Yes, and it is worth reading the period word carefully. A weekly price can look smaller than a monthly one while costing several times more per month. Our own app offers three plans: monthly, yearly and weekly, and we show the monthly-equivalent of the weekly price on the same screen.
